| The Shop on Blossom Street is really on Oak Street |
![]() | Not long after we moved, a representative from Leisure Arts
| approached us about using our shop as the backdrop for a series of books that would be the pattern companions for Debbie Macomber’s Shop On Blossom Street novel series. Just a few days after they printed the first few copies of the books, we got a call from Debbie Macomber. |
![]() | Now just in case you have been living in a cave for the last few
| years, let me remind you that Miss Debbie is a New York Times Best Selling Author and has sold over 65 MILLION books. Hundreds of thousands of women adore this woman…, and she was on my telephone, ON PURPOSE. My momma raised me right so I didn’t act too terribly idiotic on the phone. As far as I remember, I made complete sentences and everything. Debbie told me that the shop looked “just like I imagined”, and she said she wanted to come all the way from Washington (state) to Arkansas to see our shop. |
![]() | Our dear friend Mary Alice Hurst owns That Bookstore and was
| a big muckitymuck in New York City in another life, so she knows what to do with important people. So I did what any smart girl would do….I handed her the phone. |
![]() | After several months, Debbie came to Conway. We had a blast.
| Debbie is a dear, sweet, spunky, lady. She is wise and wonderful and quite possible could have southern blood running through her veins. Mary Alice hosted the largest book signing Debbie had ever had and Debbie hung out with me in my shop. On May 22 Debbie was back in our building to sign her recently released Back to Blossom Street Novel. She is still wonderful. |
